Cut, Paste, Breathe, Repeat

Cut, Paste, Breathe, Repeat, is a series of meditations on living in uncertain times. These constructions provide me a space to consider what remains by re-imagining the fragments of earlier art-making efforts and experiments that remain unresolved. Using the historical processes of cyanotype and gum bichromate allows me to have a physical and intimate relationship with the materials and as a result these collages have become a daily mantra. I am interested in non-representational shapes and forms as a way to consider abstraction and the natural world while pushing the boundaries of the photographic medium, but also to call attention to an artist’s practice, where the time spent in quiet consideration, is as important as the result itself.
